Sarah Sze at Victoria Miro
Like many artists, Sarah Sze looks at things from a slightly different angle to the rest of us. In fact, the American's latest show, opening today at Victoria Miro, goes even further. Using her preferred ordinary and mundane materials, such as cotton buds, water bottles, lightbulbs and electric fans, she's constructed a whole new world, complete with rafts, nests, tents and, rather more poignantly, its own escape routes. She's not denying the usefulness of such objects but showing how they can perform other functions, particularly when they participate in larger systems. This might well be true of humans, too.
